Kyiv's Industrial Showcase at Brno Technology Fair
At the «MSV International Engineering Fair» in Brno, Czech Republic, the industrial capabilities of the capital were presented under the brand «Made in Kyiv». This was reported by Volodymyr Kostykov, Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Development of the Kyiv City State Administration.
«This exhibition is a key event for machine engineering in Central Europe. Every year, over 1300 companies participate, half of which are foreign, attracting around 56,000 visitors. It is crucial for Kyiv's economy to showcase export-oriented enterprises at such events. Each new contract represents additional funds for the city and country’s budget, creates new jobs, and offers the opportunity to convince potential investors to enter our market,» Kostykov stated.
According to him, the growing interest in Ukrainian and specifically Kyiv enterprises indicates their competitiveness in the European market.
«During the fair, we organized a forum for Czech businesses and were pleasantly surprised that the turnout was nearly double our most optimistic projections. In total, over two hundred Czech enterprises expressed interest in collaborating with Kyiv businesses in just the first two days. This interest is, in part, a result of the high-level support for Ukraine and its capital in the Czech Republic. Czech President Petr Pavel personally visited our stand, reiterating his support for Ukraine. The Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, newly appointed Minister of Industry and Trade Lukas Vlcek, and the Czech Government Commissioner for Ukraine's Reconstruction Tomas Kopechny also visited our exhibition,» Kostykov reported.
He also thanked the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic Vasyl Zvarych and the Consul of Ukraine in Brno Hanna Proshko for their support and personal involvement in the opening of the «Made in Kyiv» exhibition.
