Russian Air Defense Losses: New Insights from the SBU
According to intelligence reports, strikes conducted by operatives from the Center for Special Operations «Alpha» of the Security Service of Ukraine have inflicted considerable damage on key elements of Russia's layered air defense system. The total estimated value of destroyed and incapacitated air defense resources over the past year is around $4 billion.
Specifically, the following systems have been destroyed:
- S-300, S-350, S-400 systems
- Buk-M1 and M2 missile systems
- Pantsir-S1 and S2 missile-gun complexes
- Tor-M1, M2, and M3 missile systems.

Significant losses have also been reported among Russian radar reconnaissance and targeting systems. Among the affected are radar stations and radars critical for detecting aerial targets and operating air defense:
- 55Ж6У radar «Nebo-U, Nebo-M»
- «Podlyot» radar
- «Niobium» radar
- «Kasta-2E2» radar
- «Gamma-D» radar
- «Protvnik-GE» radar
- radar systems from the Buk and S-300/S-400 complexes
- 92Н6 radar and others
This operation has yielded systemic results: corridors have been breached in Russia's multilayered air defense, allowing Ukrainian drones safe passage deep into enemy territory—targeting military bases, supply depots, airfields, and other military installations.
