On the night of December 23 to 24, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine using 116 strike drones of various types, including Shahed and Gerbera. Air defense forces managed to neutralize 60 of them.
This was reported by the Air Forces of Ukraine.
The drones were launched from several locations, including Milleryovo, Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from occupied Crimea, with about 90 of them being "Shahed" drones.
A significant portion of the UAVs targeted critical infrastructure in the Chernihiv region, as noted by the Air Forces.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense forces had downed or suppressed 60 enemy UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country. 48 strikes were recorded at 19 different locations.
The Air Forces emphasized that Russia continues its drone attacks and urged the public to follow safety protocols.
