Fire at Airbase: New Losses for the Aggressor
On the night of December 20-21, a fire erupted at a Russian military airbase near Lipetsk, damaging two fighter jets – Su-30 and Su-27.
This information was provided by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, along with video footage and details of the operation.
According to GUR, the special operation was carried out with the involvement of a representative of the resistance against the criminal Russian regime. As a result of the actions taken, both expensive military aircraft of the aggressor state were incapacitated directly on the premises of the military facility.
The estimated total cost of the affected fighter jets, which Russia used in the war against Ukraine, may amount to up to 100 million dollars. This concerns the Su-27 and Su-30 aircraft with tail numbers “12” and “82”.
The intelligence reports that the success of the operation was made possible due to thorough preparation, composure, and professionalism of the executors. Planning of actions at the airbase near Lipetsk lasted about two weeks.
In particular, patrol routes and guard shift schedules were studied, which allowed for a discreet entry into the airbase territory, striking the Russian fighters directly in the protective aviation hangar, and leaving the site without detection.
The GUR emphasizes that such operations are aimed at reducing the combat capabilities of the Russian army and are part of a systematic response to Russian aggression.
