Achievements in Combating Aerial Threats
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, announced that the units of the «Clean Sky» project have already shot down approximately 2100 enemy UAVs. He shared this information after visiting the military personnel who protect the airspace over the capital daily.
Kalashnyk, along with his deputy Ruslan Oliynyk, visited the fighters involved in the project and working in mobile drone countermeasures teams. He emphasized that on the eve of the Armed Forces Day of Ukraine, he had the honor to personally commend the military for their professionalism and dedication.
«I expressed my gratitude for the daily risks they take for our safety», – said the regional leader.
During the visit, the leadership of the OVA toured command points and positions where the military were preparing for their next combat duty. According to Kalashnyk, these mobile units are the first to respond to aerial threats.
He noted that «Clean Sky» is a unique technology for Ukraine, where drones intercept other drones. He stated that the system operates «quickly, accurately, and effectively».
Kalashnyk highlighted that the project originated in Kyiv region but has already been scaled to other regions of the country. Together with the military and communities, a unique tactic to counter aerial threats was developed.
«Each downed aerial target means saved lives and protected infrastructure», – he noted.
The regional head also assured that support for these units will continue through subsidies and the involvement of partners to provide equipment, technology, and resources.
«It is thanks to these people that we can live, work, and build our future», – emphasized Kalashnyk, expressing sincere gratitude to the military.
