Attacks on Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure
During the night, Russian forces launched attacks on the energy infrastructure in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, reported the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine on November 24.
"The most severe situation is in Dnipropetrovsk: over 60,000 consumers are without electricity. In Kharkiv, around 10,000 subscribers have also lost power due to the attack. Energy workers are tirelessly working to restore electricity supply as soon as possible," the statement said.
Additionally, according to the Ministry of Energy, adverse weather conditions have caused power outages in 45 localities in Lviv region, with restoration of all affected consumers expected by the end of the day.
"Today, in all regions of Ukraine, from 00:00 to 23:59, schedules for hourly outages and power restrictions for industrial consumers and businesses are in effect. We urge consumers to use electricity sparingly throughout the day, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening. This helps to reduce the load on the system," emphasized the ministry.
Since the beginning of autumn, Russian military forces have intensified shelling of Ukraine's energy and gas infrastructure, which provides gas to people during the heating season.
