Current Situation in Pokrovsk: Ongoing Defense
Russian occupying forces are intensifying their assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces in the Pokrovsk agglomeration of Donetsk. The fiercest battles are taking place in the industrial zone of Pokrovsk. This was reported by the 7th Airborne Corps on social media.
"The 7th Airborne Corps maintains its defensive line. Over the past week, Ukrainian troops eliminated 236 Russian soldiers, with another 136 wounded. Our forces also struck 1 tank, 3 armored personnel carriers, and 23 vehicles. The enemy continues to increase the number of assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk agglomeration. Last week, Russians attacked our units 132 times, which is nearly 20% more than the previous week," the 7th Airborne Corps noted.
The statement highlights that Ukrainian troops are thwarting Russian attempts to establish themselves in the high-rise buildings of Pokrovsk, which the enemy wishes to use as dominant heights. This counteraction allows other Defense Forces units to carry out tasks to clear the enemy from the city.
The elimination of Russian forces continues in the northern part of Pokrovsk. The most intense fighting is currently taking place in the industrial zone, according to the 7th Corps. At the same time, they add that the enemy's infiltration routes into this area are under the control of Ukrainian forces. Thus, the enemy has limited options for replenishing losses.
Meanwhile, the adversary aims to concentrate efforts in other parts of the city and on the western outskirts for further advancement towards Hryshyne, located northwest of Pokrovsk. Ukrainian troops are holding back the enemy, notably through a multi-layered defense system. Logistics in Hryshyne enable them to fulfill designated tasks, Ukrainian military officials assure.
The defensive operation in Myrnohrad is also ongoing. Logistics are being maintained, and the replenishment of food and ammunition supplies is timely.
The enemy is attempting to attack Myrnohrad from the southeast. The Defense Forces are successfully eliminating the enemy on the approaches to the city, preventing them from infiltrating, as stated in the report.
Background: On November 10, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that logistics to Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region are complicated but ongoing, and information about complete enemy fire control over the logistics routes of the Defense Forces of Ukraine or operational encirclement of the city is not true.
