Critical Situation in Pokrovsk: Evacuation Unfeasible
In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, only 1256 residents remain, and evacuation from the community is virtually impossible. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin.
"Currently, there are 1256 people in the city. Local residents cannot leave shelters and go out on their own due to daily shelling. We have witnessed how the Russian army targets elderly people who step out to charge their phones or fetch water. Evacuation from the community is almost impossible at this time," stated the head of the OVA.
At the same time, Filashkin cited a recent evacuation of six residents with pets from Pokrovsk, which took more than three days and was conducted by the fighters of the 425th separate assault regiment 'Skelya'.
He also urged residents of Donetsk region to leave other towns close to the front line, particularly Kostiantynivka.
According to Filashkin, there are currently 5274 people remaining in Kostiantynivka, with 5200 in the city itself. Qualified medical assistance is unavailable, and there is no gas, water, or electricity supply.
Overall, approximately 200,500 people remain in Donetsk region, including over 13,000 children, 1100 individuals with limited mobility, and 91,000 elderly people.
