In the Kharkiv region, a rescuer has lost his life while on duty, with five others sustaining injuries from repeated shelling. This information was provided by the State Emergency Service.
"On the night of October 23, during a combat mission in the Kupiansk area, a true hero was killed - the commander of the 43rd State Fire and Rescue Unit of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Squad of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, senior sergeant Yuriy Chistyakov, born in 1975. He leaves behind a daughter," the publication states.
While extinguishing a fire caused by a hostile drone strike in the village of Zelenny Hay in the Velikoburlutsk community of the Kupiansk district, Russian terrorists shelled the area again where the rescuers were operating. This attack claimed the life of the rescuer, and five of his colleagues were injured.
Yuriy Chistyakov exemplified duty - a person for whom saving others was more important than his own life, the post adds.
