In the night of October 17, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized 35 drones out of 70 launched at 8:00 PM on October 16. This information has been shared on the official Facebook page of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to reports, the enemy launched an attack from the directions of Milleryovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia, and Chauda – temporarily occupied Crimea. More than half of the attacking drones were of the Shahed type.
In response to the assault, the Ukrainian military utilized aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 9:00 AM, preliminary data indicates that 35 drones of various models were shot down in the northern and eastern regions of Ukraine. The downing of 31 drones was recorded at 10 locations, with debris observed at 2 sites. The Air Force warned that the attack is ongoing, and enemy drones remain in the airspace.
