Air Defense Success Against Recent Attacks
Ukraine's air defense managed to neutralize 420 drones and missiles that were launched by the Russian army during their evening assault. There have been 19 recorded locations of enemy target hits. This information was shared by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
According to military reports, since 19:00 on Thursday, October 9, Russian invaders utilized a total of 497 aerial attack resources:
- 465 drones, approximately 200 of which were of the Shahed type. Other types included “Gerbera.” Launches were made from Russian cities such as Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Oryol, Shakhty, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
- 2 aeroballistic missiles of the X-47M2 “Kinzhal” type, launched from the airspace of Lipetsk region, Russia;
- 14 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M/KN-23 type. Launch areas included occupied Crimea, and Rostov and Bryansk regions of Russia;
- 12 cruise missiles of the Iskander-K type. Launch areas included occupied Crimea, Rostov, and Bryansk;
- 4 guided aviation missiles X-59/69.
The enemy's attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
As of 10:00 on Friday, October 10, air defense has shot down or jammed 405 enemy drones, including Shahed and “Gerbera” types, one aeroballistic missile X-47 M2 “Kinzhal,” four ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23, nine cruise missiles Iskander-K, and one guided aviation missile X-59/69.
Another four missiles from the invaders were location-lost, with none reaching their targets. Clarifications on the impact locations are ongoing. There have been direct hits recorded on 13 missiles and 60 strike drones of the enemy, with seven instances of debris from downed targets.
The Air Forces emphasize: the attack is ongoing. Movement of several enemy UAVs is detected in the sky above Ukraine.
