Energy Infrastructure Under Attack in Poltava Region
In the Poltava region, specifically in the Kremenchuk District, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of a Russian attack, as reported by Volodymyr Kogut, the head of the regional military administration.
According to him, the damage occurred due to falling debris and direct hits, resulting in 16,578 residential and 800 legal subscribers losing power.
Emergency power outage schedules have been implemented in the region, and energy workers are already working on restoring electricity supply.
The Ministry of Energy reported that on the night of October 10, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Emergency power outage schedules have also been introduced in the Sumy region.
In recent weeks, Russian forces have intensified shelling of Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which provides gas to citizens during the heating season.
Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions using various types of weaponry – strike drones, missiles, guided bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems.
The Russian leadership denies that its army is specifically targeting civilian infrastructure in cities and villages of Ukraine during the full-scale war, killing civilians and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy, and water supply facilities.
Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize their targeted nature.
