Return of the Fallen: New Details on Repatriation

Ukraine has successfully completed significant repatriation efforts, in which 1000 bodies, allegedly belonging to Ukrainian military personnel according to Russian sources, were returned.

This information was shared by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on their Telegram channel.

In the coming days, law enforcement officials, together with MIA experts, will carry out necessary examinations and identifications of the repatriated bodies.

The repatriation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, and other security sector structures.

The Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks were given to the military personnel who are responsible for transporting the fallen heroes to designated state facilities and organizing the handover of the deceased to law enforcement and forensic examination authorities.

Law enforcement officials, along with MIA experts, will quickly establish the identities of the fallen soldiers.
