Air Defense Triumph: Majority of Drones Neutralized

The air defense forces managed to neutralize 136 out of 172 drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine on the evening of September 16.

Starting from 6 PM on Tuesday, September 16, the aggressors launched an assault with "Iskander-M/KN-23" ballistic missiles and S-300 guided missiles from the Rostov and Kursk regions. They deployed 172 strike UAVs, including Shahed types, "Herbera," and other drones from various directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsk-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). Over 100 of these were Shahed drones.

The air assault was repelled by aviation, air defense missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As of 9:30 AM on Wednesday, September 17, preliminary data indicates that air defense downed or suppressed 136 Shahed UAVs, "Herbera," and other types of drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
