The Ukrainian defense forces successfully neutralized 89 out of 113 drones that attacked the country on the night of September 15-16.
This was reported by the Air Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
Starting from 8 PM on September 15, Russian forces launched 113 strike drones, including Shahed types, from various directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Approximately 70 of these were Shahed drones.
The attack was repelled by air forces, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare troops, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.
As of 9 AM on September 16, preliminary data indicates that air defense shot down 89 drones across the north, south, east, and center of the country.
There were confirmed hits of 22 strike drones at six locations, with debris falling at two locations. Two enemy drones remain airborne.
Additionally, around midnight, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with 10 shells from a multiple rocket launcher (preliminarily identified as "Tornado-S"). There are casualties and injuries.
