Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, 224 artists and 111 media professionals, both Ukrainian and foreign, have lost their lives.
This information has been released by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.
The ministry emphasizes that these figures not only reflect the magnitude of the tragic losses but also serve as a reminder of the dark chapters in Ukraine's history. Just as the Stalinist regime annihilated a generation of artists in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century, Russia is currently purposefully targeting Ukraine's cultural elite.
On the front lines, near the village of Yunakivka in the Sumy region, actor and serviceman Andriy Synishyn was killed.
