Tragedy in Kyiv: Aftermath of Rocket Attack
In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, a rocket attack resulted in the death of one man, while six individuals sustained injuries, including a 15-year-old girl. Authorities have initiated a criminal investigation into this war crime.
According to the investigation, on the night of July 21, 2025, Russian military forces struck the city with missiles and drones.
As of now, one death and six injuries have been reported, with multiple shrapnel wounds among the victims. One injured person received on-site medical assistance for a hypertensive crisis.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, several residential high-rise buildings were damaged, leading to a fire on three floors. The blast wave also affected a metro station and neighboring establishments.
In the Solomianskyi district, the shockwave shattered windows and doors in high-rise buildings.
In the Darnytskyi district, a kindergarten and supermarkets were damaged, with windows blown out in residential buildings.
In the Dniprovskyi district, commercial pavilions and warehouses caught fire.
Two buildings, including an unfinished one, suffered significant damage in the Obolon district of Kyiv.
The exact number of casualties and the overall impact of the attack are being assessed. Rescuers and law enforcement are working at the sites of destruction and documenting this latest war crime.
The investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine.
