Russian Aggressors Launch New Assault on Ukraine
On the evening of July 20, Russian forces launched a new assault on Ukraine, firing 24 missiles and deploying 426 drones, including Shahed-type UAVs. All missiles were successfully intercepted.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force via Telegram.
According to their statement: "As of 9:30, our forces have downed 224 enemy air attack assets: 200 Shahed drones; most missiles were destroyed by our air defense systems, while the rest were suppressed by electronic warfare or lost."
Additionally, 203 decoy drones did not reach their targets, likely due to electronic warfare interference.
"It was recorded that 23 strike drones hit 3 locations, and downed drones fell in 12 areas," the Air Force noted.
Specifically, the aggressors launched:
5 air-launched missiles X-47 M2 "Kinzhal" (from the airspace of the Tambov region, Russia);
4 cruise missiles "Kalibr" (from the Black Sea);
1 cruise missile Iskander-K (from the vicinity of Milleryovo, Russia);
14 cruise missiles X-101 (from the airspace of the Saratov region, Russia).
The air raid was repelled by our aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drones, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Air Force emphasizes that the assault is ongoing - as of 9:30, a new group of Russian drones has entered from the north.
