Night Assault on Ukraine: New Airborne Threats

On the night of July 12, Russian occupying forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, employing strike drones and missiles. Explosions were heard in multiple regions, including the capital. Lviv and Kharkiv also experienced strikes.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Forces, KMVA, and the alarm map.

Details: The Air Force reports a significant number of Russian UAVs over most regions of the country. Explosions occurred in Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.

Authorities urge citizens to stay in shelters until the all-clear signal.

Updated: At 01:09, the military reported a large concentration of strike drones in several regions of Ukraine.

Quoted from the Air Force: "A large concentration of UAVs is noted in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, eastern Zhytomyr, western Sumy, and northern Odesa. Strike drones are moving erratically in the airspace of these regions! Air defense is operational, stay safe and remain in shelters!".

At 03:23, the military warned about a high-speed target in Sumy heading towards Poltava. Another one in Kharkiv is also heading towards Poltava.

As of 03:50, six Russian cruise missiles are moving towards the Kremenchuk reservoir, the Air Force reported.

One missile is heading through Lysjanka towards Kyiv!

Updated at 04:00. Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyy reported a hit in the city.

"The main concern now is the safety of every resident, so I strongly urge you to stay in shelters until the air alert is over," wrote the mayor.

As of 04:54, according to the Air Forces, Russian missiles are heading towards Rohatyn, Khodoriv, Shumsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Rudno, Zboriv, Berestetske, and Lutsk.

Around five in the morning on July 12, the Russian army struck a residential area in the Kyiv district with a guided aerial bomb (GAB). There are casualties from the attack.
