New Drone Defense System Launched in Kyiv
The capital of Ukraine is launching a comprehensive drone interception system called “Clean Sky”, designed to safeguard the city from Russian assaults.
This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.
How the “Clean Sky” system will protect Kyiv
According to him, the capital is securing additional funds to implement the large-scale “Clean Sky” project, which involves safeguarding the airspace with domestic interceptor drones. A budget of 260 million hryvnias will be allocated to establish an effective response system against threats.
Specifically, a training center for operators will be set up, where specialists will learn to operate the interceptor drones. Additional mobile units will also be formed to patrol Kyiv and its outskirts.
It is noted that the “Clean Sky” system will operate in close coordination with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Air Forces, and other components of the Defense Forces.
“In just a few months of the pilot launch, the “Clean Sky” project in Kyiv region has already proven its effectiveness by intercepting nearly 550 enemy UAVs,” emphasized Timur Tkachenko.
The launch of the full-fledged system aims to significantly enhance Kyiv's defenses against ongoing attacks from enemy drones.
