New Stage of Prisoner Exchange: Return of Wounded Defenders
Today, Ukraine has witnessed a new stage of prisoner exchange, focusing on the return of severely wounded defenders. This exchange was made possible through agreements reached in Istanbul.
A group of servicemen from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including representatives from various branches such as the Navy, Ground Forces, Territorial Defense, Airborne Forces, and border guards, have returned from Russian captivity.
Among the released are fighters who had been held captive for an extended period, including defenders of Mariupol.
All released individuals face serious health issues, including epilepsy, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, and other ailments. Many have also experienced significant weight loss.
The returned defenders will receive medical assistance, undergo necessary examinations, treatment, and rehabilitation. Additionally, their documents will be restored, and they will be compensated for their time in captivity.
The exchange process continues, and the exact number of released individuals will be announced after all stages are completed.
The Coordination Headquarters is actively working to bring all defenders home!
