Zelensky lays flowers at destroyed building in Kyiv
Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, visited the site of the tragedy in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, where a Russian attack destroyed a residential building.
The head of state laid flowers at the site of the shelling that took place on June 17, resulting in the deaths of 23 individuals.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported to the President that search operations at the site had concluded. Over 400 rescuers and more than 200 units of equipment were involved in addressing the aftermath of the attack. 500 residents have submitted requests for housing loss documentation.
Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city military administration, informed that over 1,000 people sought assistance from the district headquarters. They are receiving all necessary support.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksii Kuleba stated that a technical inspection of the building is currently ongoing. If capital reconstruction is not possible, residents will receive compensation for their destroyed homes.
That night, Russia launched a large-scale missile strike against Ukraine, deploying 440 drones and 32 missiles. In Kyiv, buildings in eight districts were damaged due to the attack.
This shelling claimed the lives of 28 people in the capital, with 142 residents injured, including six children.
