In Memory of Mikhail Klimchenko: A Loss to the Art World

On June 15, the talented artist of monumental-decorative art, Mikhail Klimchenko, tragically lost his life at the front at the age of 49.
This sad news was reported by the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and Television named after I.K. Karpenko-Kary.
The university stated: "Once again, we mourn the loss of one of our graduates - the renowned artist who graduated from our university in 1997, Mikhail Klimchenko".
Mikhail was an active member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and a winner of the international glass art competition "VitroProfi".
In the 1990s, he worked as an artist at the National Theater of Russian Drama named after Lesya Ukrainka, dedicating the last years of his life to his creative work.
Klimchenko was also known for his works located in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy region, and Sumy region, including the mosaic "Archangel Michael" in the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Putyvl, and the triptych "Saint John the Baptist at the Jordan" in Kharkiv.
