Tragic Loss: Death of Police Officer and Her Family

A horrific tragedy has unfolded in Ukraine: officer Darina Shigida lost her life during a nighttime shelling in Priluki. Along with her, her one-year-old son and mother also perished.

This incident occurred at night in the Chernihiv region. Due to the hostile attack, Darina, her young son, and her mother died. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

Darina had been serving in the Kyiv police since 2020. Colleagues remember her as a strong, kind, and sincere person with a high sense of duty. She was always responsible and fair.

“Becoming a police officer was her childhood dream. Her father, a firefighter, taught her to help others. Her husband, also a patrol officer, always supported her in her service,” noted the police.

This strike took the lives of three generations of one family.

“This is not just a loss — it is the uprooting of three generations... There are no words to soothe this pain. Only silence, tears, and rage — for the destroyed lives,” the National Police wrote.
