On May 16, 2023, the bodies of 909 defenders who lost their lives in combat were returned to Ukraine.

Details: The fallen defenders come from Kurakhiv, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv directions.
Additionally, bodies were retrieved from morgues located in the Russian Federation.
