Honoring Ukrainian Heroes on Infantry Day
On Infantry Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with soldiers and families of fallen defenders, awarded state honors, and promoted three colonels.

Details: According to the documents, military rank of brigadier general was conferred to:
- the Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Viktor Solimchuk,
- the head of the 169th training center named after Prince Yaroslav the Wise, Colonel Oleksiy Maistrenko,
- the commander of the 19th army corps of the operational command "South," Colonel Oleksandr Bakulin.
Quote from Zelensky: "Ukraine stands because the Ukrainian infantry stands – they fight, destroy the occupier, protect and restore our positions, and carry out brilliant operations that have become exemplary in the history of world military – your history, the history of the brave."
Additional Information: The President also awarded the "Golden Star" to the Heroes of Ukraine – junior lieutenant Vladislav Datsky and junior sergeant Mykola Molchanov.
Separately, Zelensky presented the "Golden Star" order to the families of three fallen Heroes of Ukraine: Yaroslav Khibovsky, Vasyl Yaremko, and Ivan Holubka.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine will always honor its heroes and called for not forgetting the fallen.
