Peace Initiatives: President Putin Announces Temporary Ceasefire

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a new initiative for a temporary ceasefire in line with the 80th anniversary celebrations of the end of World War II.

This ceasefire will be in effect from 00:00 on May 8 to 00:00 on May 11, as reported by the Russian state news agency TASS.

Putin emphasized that the Ukrainian side should follow this example.

He further stated that should there be any violations of the ceasefire by Ukraine, Russian forces will respond appropriately and effectively.
