The Crucial Role of Information Security in Warfare

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released an animated video on social media, urging the media, politicians, and military personnel to adhere to information security principles and avoid disseminating data that could be exploited by the enemy.

Quote: "During wartime, there are no insignificant details – everything matters. A single report created without approval can become a source of coordinates for the enemy. An impulsive comment can be a target for intelligence. An unnecessary publication can lead to strikes and casualties".

The video narrates a story about a supposed report from a civilian enterprise that manufactures drones. The plot shows that after this footage aired on television, the enemy obtained data for an attack that resulted in the destruction of the facility and numerous casualties.

"Everyone who works with sensitive information must act responsibly and adhere to information security rules. This video serves as a reminder for every journalist, military member, public figure, or official: silence is also a weapon. The enemy is listening! Stay vigilant!", emphasized the General Staff.
