Criticism of Social Media X for Censoring Information

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgiy Tikhiy, has condemned social media platform X for labeling information regarding the death of Ukrainian children due to Russian shelling as «shocking content». 

He accused the platform of concealing the crimes of Russia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this suppression is unacceptable.

«Seriously, X? Since when is the number of Ukrainian children killed by Russia considered «shocking content”? This is not about protecting users from harsh imagery. It is about concealing war crimes. This is disgraceful, and this decision must be revoked», - he stated in his post. 

Georgiy Tikhiy shared a screenshot to illustrate how the social media platform hid a post from the official MFA page.

The image shows that social media X concealed a post with statistics on at least 616 Ukrainian children killed by Russia and 1869 injured since the onset of the full-scale invasion.
