Inauguration of the Ukrainian Book Shelf in Galway

The Galway City Library celebrated the grand opening of the «Ukrainian Book Shelf» — a significant cultural initiative aimed at strengthening the bonds between Ukraine and Ireland. This was announced by the Ukrainian Embassy in Ireland on Facebook.
The event was attended by Ukrainian Ambassador Larysa Gerasymenko, who emphasized that for Ukrainians, books have always represented freedom, identity, and memory. Today, as Ukraine fights for its independence, culture remains our voice in the world. For Irish readers, this shelf opens up access to Ukrainian literature and history, while for the Ukrainian community, it becomes a piece of home.
Special thanks were given to the director of the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Ireland, Natalia Korniienko, who initiated the event.
The embassy also expressed gratitude to the management of the Galway City Library, local authorities, and Ukrainian activists for their support and collaboration.
It should be noted that earlier, a Ukrainian book shelf was opened at the Ballybane Library in Galway, making Ukrainian literature and publications about Ukraine permanently available to local readers.
