Charity Initiative for Eastern Ukraine Children at Christmas
In Kyiv, the holiday fair 'Christmas in Podil' has kicked off a charity campaign to collect gifts for children from Eastern Ukraine. This year, there is a special emphasis on sharing warmth with children through soft toys, primarily teddy bears.
The gifts will be sent to the Sloviansk community, which is home to nearly five thousand children. The collection takes place in a cozy tent at Kontraktova Square, near the Ferris wheel. Toys can be left under the Christmas trees inside the tent.
In addition to teddy bears, children's books in Ukrainian, creative kits (paints, albums, pencils), and flashlights are also accepted. For those unable to participate in person, there is an option to send gifts by mail or support the initiative financially.
Organizers emphasize that every donated teddy bear or hryvnia brings joy and a sense of celebration to children, even in challenging circumstances near the front line.
