Inauguration of Ukraine's National Stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair
On October 15, the ceremonial opening of Ukraine's national stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair took place, organized by the Ukrainian Book Institute with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Goethe-Institut in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute, and the Art Arsenal.
Acting Minister of Culture, Tetiana Berezhna, emphasized that Ukraine's participation in the fair is an opportunity to remind the world of the importance of the Ukrainian voice.
Among the attendees were representatives from international institutions like Wolfram Weimer and Kristina Beinhoff, who expressed their support for Ukraine in cultural initiatives.
They highlighted the importance of documenting the war and supporting cultural projects that help preserve Ukrainian identity.
Ukrainian Ambassador Oleksii Makeiev noted the significance of literature in understanding Ukrainian history.
This year's focus theme for Ukraine's participation is Filling in, with 300 books from 38 publishers displayed at the stand.
