Vitaliy Klitschko Honors Capital Educators
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko shared a series of photos and recounted how, on the eve of Teacher's Day, celebrated in Ukraine on Sunday, October 5, he presented nearly 70 awards to the best professionals in the educational sector. These recognitions were also given to those educators who are defending our country.
According to Klitschko, the educational community in Kyiv comprises about 65,000 workers, including both pedagogical and technical staff. They ensure the operation of over a thousand educational institutions in the capital.
In September of this year, nearly 365,000 students and pupils returned to Kyiv's educational facilities.
The mayor noted that for the fourth consecutive year, educators continue to provide knowledge to children amidst the war, maintaining an educational front 24/7. They teach, clean, feed, ensure the functioning of educational establishments, and care for the safety and lives of children.
“Almost 500 workers from educational institutions in Kyiv are currently defending Ukraine at the front. 34 educators have given their lives for Ukraine's independence, and 12 are considered missing,” Klitschko shared.
Additionally, around 2,300 employees from temporarily occupied territories have been employed in Kyiv's educational institutions, including nearly 1,500 teachers. The city has always supported educators and will continue to do so. Despite the daily challenges posed by the war, educators have managed to make learning flexible and diverse. Education in the capital not only functions but also thrives.
“Wishing you strength, realization of your plans, and grateful students, dear educators!” Klitschko addressed the educators with words of gratitude on behalf of the community.
