A Joyful Picnic for Dogs and Their Owners in Kyiv
In Kyiv, a delightful picnic named ‘Paws, Coffee, and Connections’ brought together dogs and their owners for a day of fun and compassion. The event aimed not only to entertain but also to support animals from frontline areas, as well as promote canine therapy as a vital method of emotional support for military personnel and anyone looking to enhance their mental well-being.
The charitable objective of the event was to raise funds for a volunteer from Mariupol, Mykhailo Puryshev, who has been rescuing people and animals from war-torn regions for three years, providing food, medicine, and shelter.
“We understand what it’s like to be near the front lines, losing contact with loved ones. Mykhailo is a hero who risks his life to help others, offering them a chance to escape from hell,” said Artem Ipatov, CEO of #ShоTam.
Visitors enjoyed lectures from professional canine therapists, dog trainers, and veterinarians, along with various competitions and contests for dogs. The “Talented Tails” contest was especially well-received.
“The number of four-legged participants increases with each event, and it’s heartwarming to see the improvement in obedience and interaction between humans and dogs,” said Kateryna Shershnova, founder of Holy Doggy.
The venue featured grooming zones, workshops for people and dogs, photo areas, a veterinary point, and a market for artisanal products.
The organizers fostered a cozy and friendly atmosphere where everyone — both humans and their furry friends — made new acquaintances, gained valuable knowledge, and found inspiration. Such events are crucial in showcasing the various roles dogs play in society — from companions and athletes to therapists helping veterans recover from trauma.
The picnic “Paws, Coffee, and Connections” was initiated by the positive news media #ShоTam in collaboration with Holy Doggy, a project promoting canine therapy. Thanks to socially responsible companies like Josera, Aurora, LavGav, and Rozetka, the picnic was free to attend, and every dog received valuable gifts.
