Honoring Workers in Ukraine's Oil and Gas Industry
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met with representatives of the oil and gas sector, recognizing their achievements with state awards.
The head of state emphasized that the courage of oil and gas workers is vital for the resilience of the nation.
«We have domestic gas production and a developed infrastructure for fuel transport and storage. For several winters, we have supported our neighbors in Moldova, which is a significant accomplishment. Despite the threats from Russia, Ukraine has found ways to secure its fuel supply. Russia hoped for a fuel crisis in Ukraine, but now it faces a gasoline shortage itself», – the President stated.
Volodymyr Zelensky noted that each winter during this war has posed a challenge for electricity and heating supplies. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved in restoring energy infrastructure, Ukraine has been able to overcome these challenges.
The President urged everyone to remember the cost of enduring through the winters of war. Many oil and gas workers have been injured, and some have lost their lives due to drone and missile attacks. Those present honored their memory with a moment of silence.
Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the «For Courage» III class medals to the relatives of the deceased oil and gas workers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
