On September 17 at 7:00 PM, in Kyiv at the bookstore “Sens” (Khreshchatyk, 34), there will be a presentation of the book “Olenivka. Crime. Memory. Broken System”. Authors and witnesses of the events will participate.
This was announced by Gayane Avakyan, co-founder of the Memory Platform Memorial, on her Facebook page.
“The book gathers all available testimonies regarding the Russian war crime in Olenivka, which remains unpunished; we honor the deceased by naming them and sharing their stories,” the event organizers emphasize.
During the meeting, the following topics will be discussed:
the reconstruction of events before, during, and after the explosion in the colony;
the role of memory as a key component of transitional justice;
the reasons for the international justice system's failure to address Russian war crimes.
The book is prepared by: The Ukrainians Publishing, Memory Platform Memorial, Media Initiative for Human Rights.
