Art of Unity: The Tradition of Block Printing in Ukraine
On Ukraine's Independence Day, the ancient art of block printing served as a symbol of unity for Ukrainians in 20 countries as part of the international cultural event "SIGNS OF IDENTITY".
This initiative brought together numerous talented artisans both in Ukraine and abroad, who simultaneously created their unique embroidered towels using block printing techniques in a live broadcast of cultural connection.
The project was initiated by artist Karina Gaeva.
Partners include the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Office of Ukrainian National and Civic Identity, the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine, and the Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora.
We extend our gratitude to museum visitors who participated in the event and the block printing workshop, as well as to the musicians from Victory Beats, who created a special festive atmosphere during the event.
A point of pride is the participation of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhian Cossacks.
We thank all defenders of Ukraine for the opportunity to live freely, create, and love!
