Honoring Cooperation with Norway
The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pivnenko, awarded Major General Frode Ommudsen, head of the National Guard of Norway, recognizing his contribution to supporting Ukraine.
Pivnenko announced this on social media.
"I congratulate Major General Frode Ommudsen on receiving the Order of Merit III class, according to the Presidential Decree of Ukraine No. 617/2025 dated August 23, 2025," he stated.
According to Pivnenko, this award symbolizes deep respect and recognition of the significant contribution to supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression and strengthening international cooperation.
"Thanks to Norway's support, particularly from the National Guard, we are actively enhancing our combat readiness," he added.
Pivnenko emphasized that under Major General Ommudsen's leadership, Norway demonstrates brotherhood and professionalism during these challenging times for Ukraine.
"We greatly appreciate Norway's assistance, which strengthens our confidence in our joint struggle," he highlighted.
The commander believes that the Ukrainian-Norwegian partnership will continue to strengthen, promoting experience exchange and security in Europe.
Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the Ukrainian Order of Freedom to President of Poland Andrzej Duda on June 28.
