Meeting with James Temerty: Supporting Ukraine
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, held an important meeting with James Temerty, founder of the Temerty Foundation, his sister Lyudmyla, and the director of the Ukrainian initiative Kristyna Voler.
James Temerty is one of the world’s leading philanthropists who has actively supported Ukraine since the onset of the war by implementing numerous projects in education, healthcare, and infrastructure recovery.
During the discussion, Budanov and representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora focused on potential directions for strengthening military intelligence and measures to consolidate efforts among Ukrainians abroad.
“The diaspora plays a crucial role in bolstering our nation’s defense capabilities. Together, we can respond swiftly to challenges and provide necessary support to our soldiers,” emphasized the general.
Temerty praised the work of Ukrainian intelligence officers, highlighting their dedication and professionalism.
“The work of the GUR and its special units is impressive in its resolve. It is our honor to support those who risk their lives daily for the defense of Ukraine and the values shared by the free world,” he stated.
At the end, Budanov expressed gratitude to Temerty for his invaluable contribution to Ukraine’s support and congratulated him on receiving the state award “National Legend of Ukraine,” presented by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Today, Ukrainians worldwide unite for a common goal — victory. The support of leaders like Temerty exemplifies global solidarity and faith in our nation,” Budanov concluded.
