Evacuation Groups in Ukraine: New Opportunities and Tasks
Currently, there are 51 specialized evacuation groups operating in Ukraine, established by the National Police of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service.
This information was shared by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksii Serhiev during a briefing.
“At present, we have created a total of 51 groups - 24 from the National Police and 27 from the State Emergency Service,” he said.
According to the Deputy Minister, these groups are distinguished by their specialized training and equipment, setting them apart from regular police units.
“All specialized evacuation groups of the State Emergency Service and the National Police are equipped with armored vehicles, communication systems, medical kits, drinking water, food supplies, and necessary equipment to evacuate citizens, including those with limited mobility and children,” Serhiev explained.
The Deputy Minister informed that, besides conducting evacuations, these groups provide direct assistance to populations under constant fire, delivering medications, humanitarian aid, drinking water, and other essential items.
At the beginning of August, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced that there are 5 evacuation groups operating in the Sumy region.
