Democratic Festival in Denmark: Returning Deported Children
Darija Zarivna, the operational director of Bring Kids Back UA, participated in the annual Folkemødet democratic festival in Denmark.
Together with former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, she joined a special panel focused on the return of deported Ukrainian children.
“The deportation and indoctrination of children is a deliberate Kremlin strategy. If the international community does not intervene now, Russia could end up with up to 1.6 million children raised to be instruments of future aggression,” she stated.
The operational director also updated on the current situation regarding the initial list of abducted children that the Ukrainian delegation handed to Russia during negotiations in Istanbul. She indicated that if Russia is truly ready for dialogue, it should at least return those children whose names are on this list.
During her speech at the panel on the role of civil society, she highlighted the unique partnership model that has developed in Ukraine among the government, NGOs, and volunteers within the framework of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
Moreover, she held several meetings with European politicians, NGO representatives, experts, and journalists to discuss future joint projects under the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
