Documentary Film Festival: “War Through the Lens”
The capital hosted the third documentary film festival titled “War Through the Lens” — an event that brings together those seeking to understand the true cost of freedom and justice.
This event served as a recognition of the bravery of Ukrainian media professionals — journalists, cameramen, photographers, and directors — who, despite the dangers, document events in conflict zones.
Thanks to their efforts, the world sees not only the horrors of war but also the strength, courage, and resilience of the Ukrainian people. They capture important historical moments, showcasing devastated cities, human suffering, and the heroism of our defenders.
The festival is not just a showcase of powerful documentaries but also a space for deep reflection. It is a call to the world about the importance of truth. It honors those on the informational front who risk their lives for justice and dignity.
The «Truth in War» festival demonstrates that documentary cinema is memory, pain, and hope.
«We have been hosting this festival for the third year now. It is vital to support those who bring the truth about this war and its heroes. We are grateful to all media professionals for their work and remember those who gave their lives for the truth,» stated a representative of the organization.
The festival was hosted by well-known personalities actively supporting Ukrainian soldiers and media professionals.
All winners in various categories received commemorative prizes. The best works were evaluated by a competent jury made up of experienced journalists who are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
The documentary film — «Under the Sky» was among the best, alongside other works highlighting wartime events.
The “War Through the Lens” festival lasted until June 7. A screening of the finalists took place at the House of Cinema, as well as the premiere of a new documentary film that reveals the life of a Ukrainian artist.
