New Mental Health Center for Military Personnel Opens in Dnipro
A modern mental health center has opened in Dnipro, aimed at serving military personnel, veterans, and their families. This is the first institution in the nationwide RECOVERY initiative founded by Viktor and Olena Pinchuk to support Ukraine's security forces. Every year, over 4,000 defenders and their families will be able to receive assistance here.
In the first phase, at least 25 RECOVERY centers are planned to be established throughout Ukraine, providing free, professional help to over 105,000 heroes annually.
The center is situated within one of Dnipro's key medical facilities, which has been a vital hub for military aid since the onset of the full-scale invasion, housing some of the most capable medical teams.
During a visit to the RECOVERY rehabilitation center, Viktor Pinchuk shared how he and Olena visited heroes and asked them about their needs for psychological support, and all confirmed the necessity of such assistance.
"We understand that psychological support is essential for many, especially our heroes at the front who risk their lives and lose comrades. Therefore, this year we hope to open at least 20 such centers," added Pinchuk.
The RECOVERY centers are established with the support of philanthropists and based on state medical institutions. The project includes major renovations and the establishment of a modern, accessible center that meets global inclusivity standards.
The center features barrier-free access: wide doorways, non-slip flooring, and inclusive restrooms. It includes offices for individual and group therapy as well as day hospital facilities.
The Dnipro RECOVERY center will offer therapeutic assistance using various methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and crisis counseling. Additionally, clients can receive psychiatric care according to contemporary treatment protocols.
Professionals at the center assist individuals experiencing PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related issues. A multidisciplinary team will operate in each center to provide comprehensive support.
"We aim to help individuals restore their lives after trauma. Our team employs various therapeutic methods to create a comfortable atmosphere for recovery," said Yana Syahailo, head of the center.
The center is equipped with modern mental recovery tools and access to professional literature in psychology and psychotherapy.
The founders of the RECOVERY initiative believe that quality mental rehabilitation is achievable through a comprehensive approach. The main goal is to advance mental health in Ukraine by creating a network of centers and educational programs for specialists.
Currently, memoranda to establish new centers have been signed with 15 medical institutions. By 2025, new centers will open in several regions of Ukraine, allowing even more military personnel and their families to access professional support.
