Andriy Bilous, who has been accused of sexual harassment, has resigned from his position as the director of the Kyiv Academic Young Theatre.
This was confirmed by the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration.
It is noted that Bilous submitted a resignation letter by mutual agreement. The Department has already signed the relevant order.
"All further personnel decisions regarding the temporary performance of the duties of the theatre's director will be made in accordance with the established legal regulations," the Department stated.
A petition No. 13512 was previously created demanding the removal of the director-artistic director of the Young Theatre Andriy Bilous. Within a week, it gathered the required number of signatures.
Artists and activists have been calling for the scandalous artistic director's dismissal for four months, protesting outside the Kyiv City State Administration building. Actors from the theatre have shared their experiences regarding Bilous and the allegations against him.
