Addressing Labor Market Challenges in Ukraine
The Coordination Council of the Kyiv Scientific and Innovative Cluster convened to discuss the pressing challenges facing the labor market. According to the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute for Socio-Economic Development of the City («NDIRoM»), these challenges require urgent attention.
«The labor market in the capital has undergone significant changes due to the war, leading to a considerable imbalance between supply and demand. We see the need for educational and scientific institutions to unite in developing new training programs that will help reduce unemployment rates,» stated the director of «NDIRoM», Serhiy Pavlovsky.
Short-term training and retraining programs for adults can be a crucial tool in combating unemployment and fostering the development of new professions that meet modern requirements.
They also discussed the involvement of higher education institutions in innovation fairs, which could serve as a platform for commercializing scientific developments.
«Presenting cutting-edge technologies will encourage entrepreneurship and deepen the collaboration between science and business. Our goal is for science and education to become the primary drivers of regional development,» added Pavlovsky.
At the meeting, a memorandum was signed for new participants to join the Kyiv Scientific and Innovative Cluster, including the Institute of Metal Physics named after G.V. Kurdyumov and the Institute of Cybernetics named after V.M. Glushkov.
Serhiy Pavlovsky noted that the addition of these institutions enhances the scientific and technical potential of the cluster and opens new opportunities for interdisciplinary projects.
It should be noted that the Kyiv Scientific and Innovative Cluster includes leading higher education institutions in the capital, such as the Ukrainian State University named after Mykhailo Dragomanov and the Kyiv School of Economics.
