Investment in Ukraine's Digital Services
To ensure that government services are fast, transparent, and user-friendly, it is necessary to have not only effective solutions but also reliable partners. The European Union has allocated 10 million euros for the development of digital services in Ukraine and their integration with European standards.
«Collaboration with the European Union and the Academy of Electronic Governance is a long-standing success story that has laid the foundation for our digital resilience. Together, we have implemented numerous vital projects, from the Trembita data exchange system to launching convenient government services in Diia. Our priority today is not just digitalization but full synchronization with the EU's digital space. The new funding will enable us to implement Trembita 2.0 and adapt data management to European standards. We confidently move towards our strategic goal of integrating Ukraine into the EU's Single Digital Market,» said Oleksandr Boryniak, Acting Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Where the funds will go:
- Cross-border services. We will support Ukraine's access to the single market of services, goods, and capital with EU countries.
- Trembita 2.0. We will modernize the system that allows registers to communicate with each other, speeding up the work of government agencies.
- Data control. We will launch a system that shows when officials accessed your personal data.
- Development of administrative service centers. We will upgrade the «Vulyk» system to connect more centers and enhance their performance.
- European standards. We will implement new data management rules as in the EU.
- Training specialists. We will support the Center for Digital Competencies that trains experts in e-services.
«Even in the midst of a full-scale war, Ukraine continues to develop its digital state and move towards digital Eurointegration. The European Union supports these efforts by investing in solutions that strengthen institutional resilience and help create fast, secure, and modern government services for millions of Ukrainians,» noted Asier Santillan, Head of the «European Integration, Governance and Rule of Law, Civil Society» Department of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
The partnership with the European Union in digital transformation has lasted nearly a decade. During this time, joint investments have exceeded 80 million euros and have laid the groundwork for services and systems that have become an everyday part of life for millions of Ukrainians.
The project is implemented by the Academy of Electronic Governance (Estonia).
«The Academy of Electronic Governance has been working with Ukraine since 2012, supporting the country’s digital transformation during reforms, crises, and now during the full-scale war. This long-term partnership proves that digital solutions are not just technology, but also trust, resilience, and the ability of the state to serve its citizens under any circumstances. Reliable support from the European Union enables the building of resilient digital systems that meet European standards,» emphasized Hannes Astok, Executive Director of the Academy of Electronic Governance.
Together, we are building the most convenient digital state in the world!
