New Era in Financial Management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has launched an innovative digital platform called "Financial Monitoring," based on SAP technologies utilized by over 90% of NATO armies. This was announced by the Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal.
"I signed an order to implement the 'Financial Monitoring' system. Now information about the use of budget funds in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces is always available and collected in one place," he stated.
According to the minister, the 'Financial Monitoring' system allows the General Staff, command, and military units to receive online information daily about allocated, spent, and remaining funds.
"No more waiting for quarterly reports, no delays and 'blind spots' – everything is timely and transparent. This allows for more effective financial management: detecting delays, identifying inefficiencies, and responding swiftly. Over 60% of fund managers are already using this system," added Denys Shmyhal.
The minister noted that the system is built on SAP technologies – used by over 90% of NATO armies.
"We are creating a modern management core for defense resources, and 'Financial Monitoring' is its key financial component. We continue digitization that strengthens the military," emphasized Shmyhal.
