Second Wave of Winter Support Payments Begins
Today, December 1st, the second wave of financial assistance of one thousand hryvnias for those who submitted applications on the second day of intake begins. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this.
"So far, 3.5 million people have received funds. We note that they have spent 473 million hryvnias," she informed.
According to her, the majority of funds are being allocated for utility payments (80%), with additional spending on books, pharmacies, and donations to the Defense Forces.
Those who applied through Ukrposhta will start receiving funds from St. Nicholas Day on December 6th, Svyrydenko added.
According to her data, 14 million Ukrainians have already submitted applications for the one thousand hryvnias under the Winter Support program, specifically:
- 11.4 million applied through Diya, with 2.9 million applications for children;
- Over 700 thousand applied independently through Ukrposhta;
- For another 1.8 million people listed in the social registry, funds will be credited automatically.
"You can submit applications until Christmas on December 24th," the Prime Minister emphasized.
As a reminder, on November 15th, the acceptance of applications for the one thousand hryvnias under the "Winter Support" program began. In the first two hours, over half a million Ukrainians submitted applications. As of November 22nd, Ukrainians had submitted 10 million applications for "Winter Support" through Diya and the Ukrposhta network. Notably, more than two million were applications for children. On November 24th, it became known that the first payments under the "Winter Support" program had started for applications submitted since November 15th.
