New Border Control Procedures for Passenger Trains

The government has decided to implement new procedures that allow border and customs checks directly in train cars without lengthy stops at the border. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this.
"This system is already functioning on certain Intercity+ trains heading to Poland. Customs and border officials will begin checking passengers while the train approaches the border," she noted.
According to her, there are plans to gradually expand this practice to sleeping cars on international night routes.

This regime will be implemented on trains:

• Kyiv – Przemyśl
• Kyiv – Chełm

"We expect to launch expedited checks in transit on certain trains as early as January, and then we will scale it to other routes," Svyrydenko informed.
