Kyiv Region to Receive New Buses for Transportation Improvement

The Kyiv region is set to receive 260 modern buses from the Ile-de-France region. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.
According to him, some of the buses will be delivered to communities this year, while the rest will arrive in accordance with the agreed logistics schedule.
«This is a significant contribution to the development of our region's transport infrastructure and yet another example of reliable support from our French partners,» Kalashnyk noted.
The buses are fully serviced and equipped with electric ramps for people with reduced mobility, surveillance cameras, emergency response buttons, validators for implementing e-tickets, and GPS trackers for movement control. The French side is also providing a full set of spare parts.
Kalashnyk emphasized that local engineers possess the necessary skills for prompt maintenance, ensuring stable operation of the transport on the routes.
He reminded that the full-scale invasion caused significant damage to the transport sector in Kyiv region: over a hundred buses were destroyed or damaged by Russian attacks, and the school transport network lost dozens of vehicles, some of which were stolen during the occupation, while others were destroyed or repurposed for the needs of the Armed Forces.
The head of the OVA thanked the president of the Ile-de-France regional council, Valérie Pécresse, for the support: «Thanks to such decisions, Kyiv region receives not just buses — we are restoring mobility for our residents, reviving normal life in communities, and enhancing resilience».
